Abstract

It is known that cerebrovascular disease is the third cause of death in the underdeveloped and developing countries and that its sequelae are the first cause of disability among adults. It was made a review of the spasticity, as well as of its clinical characteristics, physiopathological comments and present treatment modalities, as a component of the motor defect in the sick that is a disabling sequela on occasions and whose cure is indipensable to attain the patient's partial recovery.
