Abstract
ROMERO MILLARES, Rogelio L. et al. Validation of the punctual measurement of blood pressure at work. Rev cubana med [online]. 2004, vol.43, n.4, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-302X.
There are several problems with the measurements of basal, casual and ambulatory arterial pressure that limit their use in screening campaigns among working populations. A new procedure overcoming these dificulties was proposed. A design was used to evaluate diagnostic tests. An excellent correlation degree was observed among the tests, which showed gross correlation values of 0.84 with a confidence level of 95 %. Sensitivity was 87 %, specificity 82 % and the predictive values were 83 and 86% positive and negative, respectively. It was concluded that the punctual measurement of blood pressure at work is a reliable and valid technique to detect arterial hypertension related to work.
