Abstract

The encephalopathy is defined as a deterioration of the mental state or the level of conscience begun by processes out the brain. On the other hand the sepsis for some time, is defined as the infection evidence more the presence of a systemic inflammatory answer. The septic encephalopathy was described for the first time in 1827, but only recently has become a topic of global neurological interest. The septic encephalopathy is reported in until 70% of the septic patients. The fisiopathology of this entity is without doubts very complex and dark and motivates us to carry out this revision article, for to be the form more common of encephalopathy in the Units of Progressive Cares.
