SENRA ARMAS, Luis et al. Gastrointestinal stromal tumor of duodenal localization with hepatic metastases. Rev cubana med [online]. 2007, vol.46, n.4, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-302X.

The case of a 61-year-old female with abdominal discomfort, recently treated iron-deficiency anaemia, metastatic liver and axial tomography images evidencing the existence of a tumor-like loop in duodenum projection with extrinsic growth, was presented. The fine needle liver cytology showed liver metastasis of a fusocellular sarcoma of the gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) type. Immunophenotype; positive CD 117 and positive CE 34 in fusocellular tumoral cells. It was concluded as a GIST of duodenal localization with liver metastasis. Treatment with imatinib mesilate was applied.
