The work of completion of a specialty is the tool designed for the doctor to learn research skills in the postgraduate training process corresponding to specialization. The purpose of this article is to stimulate collective reflection about the relevance of its elaboration as a requirement to obtain a specialist degree. Emphasis is placed on the need to improve the investigative skills of medical professionals, both for the construction of scientific knowledge and for the critical assessment of medical literature, and on the importance of improving the work of completion of the specialty.
