This paper provided updated statistical information that showed the results achieved in the reduction of incidence of prematurity and of hyaline membrane disease as well as the survival after this disease in Cuba. Prematurity indexes were beloww 3,0% whereas hyaline membrane disease incidence was less than 0,3%. Survival after the disease exhibited an upward curve.
