Abstract

RODRIGUEZ SANTANA, Maricela; GARCIA LEON, Lázaro; VALDES SUAREZ, Ernesto  and  HERNANDEZ CABRERA, Jesús. Prophylaxis of type III arterial hypertension with the use of aspirin. Rev Cubana Obstet Ginecol [online]. 1997, vol.23, n.2, pp. 115-119. ISSN 1561-3062.

A study was performed during January, 1994 and January, 1995 on 104 pregnant women diagnosed as having chronic hypertension at the outpatient service of the Gynecologic and Obstetric Teaching Hospital of Matanzas. From the total number of the sample, 54 patients were treated with low doses of aspirin and 50 received no treatment. Pregnant women who received low doses of aspirin neither developed type III arterial hypertension nor presented with the same maternal and fetal complications.
