Abstract

The pregnant woman is subject to all surgical diseases of non-pregnant women and the surgical acute abdomen isn't an exception. It may to be considered within the medical pathology like one of the more severe and dramatic affections achieving a great significance when is present during pregnancy and frequently diagnosis of these patients must to be adjusted to care for worries in relation to a second patient: the fetus. An update review was made to expose the peculiarities of the biliary lithiasis disease in pregnancy since it is difficult for whom to make its study to find the subject developed with other problems and peculiarities; in his turn, to offer to all attracted by so fascinating subject, a guideline allowing to make an early diagnosis to avoid tragic consequences for mother and its future baby. We conclude that surgical technique to be used will depend on institution, training and preparation of surgeon, the severity of patient and the pregnancy trimester.
