Abstract

PEREZ PALMERO, Zhenia et al. Información sexual en un grupo de adolescentes. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2002, vol.31, n.4, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3046.

Sex education is a need to society because one of its objectives is to prepare man to enjoy the highest human values in his relation with the other sex and to create the optimun material and spiritual conditions to strengthen the most legitimate feelings of love, respect and solidarity that should exist between the members of the couple on the basis of full equality. That's why, it is necessary to determine the degree of knowledge and sex information the young persons and adolescents aged 15-17 from a higher middle level educational institution have. The sample was composed of 250 adolescents that voluntarily decided to participate in the research. The physician interviewed them privately about some topics of sexuality. It was observed a predominance of males, single marital status and tenth grade as educational level. All the adolescents had received sex information, mainly at school. There is a deficient parents-children communication due to the lack of confidence between them. The cognoscitive level on sexually transmitted diseases and its prevention is good, although one out of nine adolescents has suffered from one of these diseases. Precocity prevailed at the age of having sexual relations for the first time.
