Abstract

A descriptive observational study was conducted in 180 patients operated on by laparoscopic surgery in the Surgery Service of our institution from January 1st , 2001 to December 31st , 2004, to determine the influence of this technique on the incorporation of patients to their usual activities, and on the reduction of hospital charges. The time of incorporation dropped by 32.4 %. $ 2 087.52 were saved. It was considered necessary to increase this surgical practice.
