Abstract

Cardiac arrhythmias are frequent complications in pregnancy, supra ventricular diseases are more frequent, with great importance atrial fibrillation with hemodynamic disorders, which puts the child mother binomial in danger, associated with the harmful effect of antiarrhythmic drugs. The author proposes to analyze the elements of the scientific consensus when treating atrial fibrillation in a more adequate way for the child mother binomial, as well as the protocolization of the treatment. From the experience of the treatment of two pregnant women with atrial fibrillation, with completely different forms and outcomes, in discussion of the multidisciplinary group, an updated protocol is searched and analyzed, in the behavior to be followed with the mother, in case of arrhythmia. Arrhythmias in the pregnant woman represent a risk for adverse fetal events, in addition to the potential risks of the medications used for the treatment. The synchronized electrical cardioversion seems to be clearly suitable in the treatment.
