Abstract

This article discusses the logic to follow the process of business planning regardless of size, industry type or form of ownership of the company. It develops the concept of business planning and the principles which underpin it. It reaffirms the idea that this process must have direct participation of the workers, the most important participants in the fulfillment of the plan. It focuses on the logic of business planning which should include five key stages; namely, demand estimating, determining the production capacity, planning of material inputs, planning of workforce and development of the financial plan of the organization. It concludes with the main problems and possible solutions to business planning in Cuba.
