Abstract
BRAVO SALABARRIA, Elianny et al. Frequency of presentation of head and neck neoplasms in canines of Havana, Cuba. Rev Salud Anim. [online]. 2019, vol.41, n.3 Epub Dec 01, 2019. ISSN 2224-4700.
The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of presentation of head and neck neoplasms in canines in Havana, Cuba, treated in the veterinary consultation of Pathology and Experimental Surgery of the National Institute of Oncology and Radiobiology, during the period 2016-2017. There were 74 animals with tumors in the head region; of them, 35 resulted positive to neoplastic cells. The information was processed in the Microsoft Excel 2016 program. Relative frequency tables were made for each of the variables: age, sex, breed, and location. Their processing was carried out by comparison of proportions using the statistical package CompaProWin 2.0.1 program (2014). The results showed greater affectation in males, greater frequency in animals over eight years old and location in the oral cavity. The most predisposed were mestizos and in second place those of the Rottweiler breed.
