Abstract

SAUCEDO CASTILLO, Orlando Miguel; OSES RODRIGUEZ, Ricardo  and  FERNANDEZ PEREZ, Lourdes Enma. Determination of optimal meteorological parameters for the incidence of late blight (Phytophthora infestans Mont. de Bary) in the potato. Ctro. Agr. [online]. 2020, vol.47, n.1, pp. 45-49.  Epub Jan 01, 2020. ISSN 0253-5785.

The late blight (Phytophthora infestans Mont. de Bary) is the most devastating disease of potato cultivation (Solanum tuberosum L.) worldwide. Due to climate change, the disease is associated with more recurrent and aggressive cycles. Based on the Regression Objective Regression Methodology, 41-year meteorological information processing was carried out at the “Yabú Valley” Company, located in Santa Clara, Villa Clara, Cuba. The optimal meteorological parameters for the incidence of late potato blight were determined, in order to optimize the prediction of the disease and achieve an efficient rational use of phytosanitary means in its control.

Keywords : climate change; forecast; plant health.
