Abstract
VILLABOY ZALDIVAR, René. The "Black" Dilemma of the Latin American Independence. UH [online]. 2014, n.278, pp. 5-19. ISSN 0253-9276.
This work presents the ups and downs that marked Latin America independence struggles (1791-1826), as to the solution of the social problems generated by the European colonialism, especially the black slavery matter. The paper deals with the motivation that produced the war, and the oligarchic and excluding feature that characterized this period, which explains the solutions to the slavery matter. It also exposes, in a comparative way, some of the remedies that tried to appease the dichotomy situation as to the existence of slaves within an emancipating fight. The article reach to the conclusion of the lack of audacity in the solutions to such problem, and the doubtful attitude of the creole aristocracy that led the process that unbind slaves from independence, and in many cases set them in the colonialist files.
