Abstract

The present article aims at analyzing the electoral system and elections in Cuba, within the framework of Cuban liberal bourgeois democracy in early 20th century. To this effect, reference will be made to conditions needed for public posts elections, electoral registry, and candidates' nomination. The paper will likewise go deeper into presidential elections, senators' and Congress' elections. During the study, It will attempt to prove that the designed system was fragile and ineffective, and that its rules were systematically evaded by politicians and their parties, from the opposition as well as from the then administration in power.
