Abstract
TERRADELLAS PIFERRER, Maria Rosa; BENITO MUNDET, Maria Helena; CASADESUS FA, Martí and GELI DE CIURANA, Anna Maria. Evaluate the social responsibility of universities to accredit the quality of their social commitment. UH [online]. 2022, n.295 Epub Dec 01, 2022. ISSN 0253-9276.
The authors of this article from the Chair of Social Responsibility and Sustainability of the University of Girona have participated in the EUSRexcel project, financed by the Erasmus+ program (2018) to create and identify a homogeneous framework of criteria and indicators of social responsibility in the field of higher education institutions. Partners from six European countries have developed the project over 36 months, in addition to eleven associate collaborators from the academic sector. Its objective has been to create a network of universities with quality certification in University Social Responsibility (RSU). To this aim, two key products have been developed. A theoretical framework to define a reference model that allows selecting the indicators of University Social Responsibility. And, the creation of an online self-assessment platform to assess five dimensions of USR: Good Governance, Training, Research, Social, and Environment. The evaluation tool is of universal measurement so that university administrations self-assess their commitment to USR, and perceive the improvements that could be introduced through a series of good practices that are included in the project material. Based on your evaluation they will be able to obtain a seal and a diploma that certifies the quality of their RSU.
Keywords : university social responsibility (USR); higher education quality; USR indicators; quality seal.
