Abstract

DIAZ PORTALES, Lilisbet; BAEZ FERNANDEZ, Darais  and  RAMOS RODRIGUEZ, Alejandro Emilio. A Strategy for Achieving Organizational Sustainability at the Center for Studies on Agricultural and Rural Development. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2019, vol.38, n.2  Epub Aug 01, 2019. ISSN 0257-4314.

This research was aimed at designing a strategy which combines internal control and institutional assessment for achieving organizational sustainability at the Center for Studies on Agricultural and Rural Development. The strategy is based on such theories and methodologies as Development Theory, Citizen Participation Program for Smart Municipalities, and constructivist developmental theory. Participatory Action Research (PAR) is the empirical approach to research, which was adopted to make a diagnosis of problems, and design the strategy. Other empirical, theoretical, statistical, and mathematical methods were used, as well as research workshops and theory triangulation. This research is novel because a strategy combining internal control and institutional assessment was designed, and a set of innovative actions were suggested, which are in conformity with the Center’s characteristics, on the basis of knowledge, attitudes, and practices of research groups.

Keywords : internal control; organizational development; institutional assessment.
