Abstract

This work is aimed at making a contribution to the development of communication skills, and communicative functions to communicate effectively by using one’s mother tongue correctly. The main steps inherent to all communication, types of communication, communicative functions, and communication skills are examined. Communicative language teaching (CLT), or the communicative approach, is highlighted as an approach to language teaching that emphasizes interaction. There is need for communication to be seen as essential for students and people in general to perform well and succeed in life. That is why communication is studied once again here, because major aspects of it are still largely unknown, and not enough importance is attached to it.
