The new demands of scientific-technical development have led to the need for a greater presence of higher education institutions (HEI) in scientific research. This induces the active participation of universities to respond to society's demands and implement changes in their processes. The People's Republic of China (PRC), from the educational policy developed during the last decades, attributes importance to this issue as one of its main tasks. The idea that knowledge is a substantial source of wealth has permeated the way in which the ideal Chinese society is thought of. In this sense, it is necessary to train the professors of the Advertising career at Harbin Normal University. The purpose of this article is to analyze some of the theoretical references for the study of the research skills of the professors of this career, from the philosophical and pedagogical points of view.
