Abstract

The present discussion tried to direct its focus to the question of gender in popular religions in Brazil, pursuing the objective of undersatanding the specificity of the constitution of gender relations in Candomblé and neo-Pentecostalism. Such a desire will only understand that object of study on the condition of seeking to account also for the burden of meanings brought by the economic dimension of these social relationships, since the beliefs presented here gather mostly poor people.
