LOPEZ-ANGULO, Yaranay; SAEZ-DELGADO, Fabiola; NUNEZ GONZALEZ, Katherine  and  ALMEYDA VAZQUEZ, Annia. Design and evaluation of a training program for the development of professional orientation competence in pre-university teachers. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2022, vol.41, n.2  Epub May 10, 2022. ISSN 0257-4314.

The professional orientation that teachers carry out as one of their main functions during the teaching-learning process is of vital importance for the future development of students. This research was developed in the context of Educational Psychology. It is carried out from a previous study that characterized and identified difficulties associated with the current state of the professional guidance process in pre-university institutes. The objective was to design and evaluate a training program for the development of professional orientation competence. 16 professors from a pre-university institute in Havana participated. A qualitative methodological strategy was used. The design of the program has the essential components to be used by counselors, psychopedagogues or people in charge of promoting professional guidance. From the evaluation made to the design through a pilot application, it is a valid training proposal for the development of this competence.
