Abstract

This research is developed in a public university in northeweast Mexico. The objective of this research is to analyze, from the perspective of the students, the presence of the pillars of industry 4.0 in their training process as engineers. The study carried out was descriptive, exploratory, non-probabilistic, it was developed through an instrument that was validated by experts, students from 11 different engineering educational programs were invited to participate. The sample consisted of 111 students. The results show the strength in certain pillars such as robotics, simulation, artificial intelligence, and additive manufacturing as well as the need for implementation in augmented reality learning units, cybersecurity and the cloud. The conclusions reveal the importance of training students with the bases and skills that allow them to perform in multidisciplinary teams, which allow them to implement the use of these technological innovations in the workplace.
