Abstract
MAZORRA, L. M and NUNEZ, Miriam. ESTADO ACTUAL SOBRE EL CONOCIMIENTO DE LA BIOSÍNTESIS Y LOS MECANISMOS MOLECULARES DE ACCIÓN DE LOS BRASINOESTEROIDES EN LAS PLANTAS. cultrop [online]. 2008, vol.29, n.1, pp. 91-105. ISSN 0258-5936.
This review focuses the evolution of studies on biosynthesis of BRs, regulation of gene expression, BR perception and signalling transduction since the early 90´s. It contains key findings related to the chemical characterization of BR intermediates and biosynthetic pathways, studies on gene expression done through applying several genomic tools and analysis of BR biosynthetic and perception mutants. Recent progresses on identifying BR receptor and signalling transduction cascade have allowed confirming the essential role of these compounds in plant growth and development regulation
Keywords : biosynthesis; mode of action; brassinosteroids, Solanum lycopersicum; Oryza sativa.
