Abstract

CALDERON PUIG, Alfredo; LARA FRANQUIS, David  and  CABRERA RODRIGUEZ, Adriano. ADVANTAGES OF THE USE OF THEMATIC MAPS FOR THE EVALUATION OF THE FERTILITY OF THE SOILS. cultrop [online]. 2012, vol.33, n.1, pp. 11-18. ISSN 0258-5936.

Habitually, the fertility of the soils is evaluated starting from chemical, physical or biological analysis, comparing the results obtained with preset calibration scales. This is in some tedious measure and with little or any space visualization of the behavior edáfico. Taking in consideration the above-mentioned, a work was developed in the farm The Potatoes belonging to the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences (INCA) whose objective was to elaborate the thematic maps for the pH, the organic matter, the assimilable P and the exchangeable cationes and its use in the handling of the soils. The soil sampling was carried out with drill to a depth of 0-20 cm, being used the method of the zigzag and you muestrearon all the lots with approximately 4,6 hectares each one to reason of 5 samples composed by area. The chemical analyses were carried out, using the analytic techniques settled down in the laboratory of soils of the INCA for each evaluated chemical property. In the maps prevalence of the lightly sour and sour soils is visualized, first soil contents to half of matter organic, possible fosfatamiento of the soils, high contents and means of K prevailing the first ones, value first soil of Ca and Mg, although for this last catión, in few exceptions, he/she is reflected the existence of areas with values means. The made maps allow to make decisions with the handling of the fertilization, amendments and the cultivations to settle down.

Keywords : maps; fertility of the soils; nutritious.
