The case of a patient with acute myelocytic leukaemia in second remission thar underwent an unrelated allogenic transplantion of progenitor cells of peripheral blood was described. The procedure was characterized by a rapid hematopoietic recovery, a mildly acute graft vs host disease and a chronic localized graft vs host disease. The patient has been in complete remission for 24 months, which is an encouraging index of the advantages of this procedure carried out for the first time in our country
