Abstract
ALBUERNE, Yoani et al. Determinación de actividad elastasa y tripsina en niños asmáticos. Rev Cubana Invest Bioméd [online]. 2000, vol.19, n.3, pp. 168-171. ISSN 1561-3011.
Bronchial asthma is one of the chronic diseases, whose mortality has increased in Cuba during the last years. The proteolytic enzimes have been involved in numerous inflammatory diseases as asthma, among them. That's why the elastase and trypsin activity was evaluated in samples of asthmatic children, who were divided into 3 groups (mild astma, moderate asthma and severe asthma) and compared with a control group of sound children. Very encouraging preliminary results were obtained that showed an increase in the levels of elastase in the asthmatic patient and a deficiency of serine proteases inhibitors
