Abstract

AYLLON VALDES, Lucía et al. Some basic aspects on the evolution of the RNA virus: medical importance. Rev Cubana Invest Bioméd [online]. 2006, vol.25, n.3, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3011.

A review of the most important concepts related to the evolution of the RNA virus was made. The viruses with RNA genome are the most abundant intracellular parasites in the biosphere. The current state of the knowledge about the structure of the viral quasispecies and their biological implications was also summarized, allowing all the professionals connected in one way or another with the infectious diseases to understand better the adaptability of the viruses, their pathogenic and persistence power, as well as the present and future design of the strategy for the prevention and control of the diseases they cause.
