A study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of auriculopuncture in 30 asthmatic patients from the health area of Aguada de Pasajeros between November, 1992, and April, 1993. The treatment was applied for a month, with a follow-up during the next 5 months. It was observed a reduction in the frequency, intensity and duration of the asthma crises. Most of the patients had a satisfactory evolution and there were no complications. It is concluded that auriculotherapy is a useful method for patients with bronchial asthma due to its effectiveness and innocuousness.
