An investigation was made at the Home for the Aged, in Limonar, in coordination with the Dermatology Service of "Comandante Faustino Pérez" Hospital during the first semester of 2001, to determine the morbidity from precancerous skin lesions among the 57 aged persons that live in that institution, as well as their elimination, and to know the risk factors they are related to. The data obtained were processed in Microsoft Excel system. It was concluded that the precancerous skin lesions were very common in the geriatric population under study. The rhomboidal cutis of the nape showed the highest incidence. The prolongued exposure to the sun was the predominating risk factor. Lesions were erradicated in 33 % of the patients and the others are under medical observation.
