Abstract

A descriptive and retrospective study was carried out to evaluate the use and and satisfaction of the elderly population with the health services at the primary health care level. The universe was composed of 178 elderly patients and the sample finally consisted of 169 from 2 family physicians'offices of San Diego de los Baños Polyclinic. It was concluded that the most used services were the family physician's offices (82.24 %), nursing (53.84 %) and diagnostic tools (46.15 %). The female patients aged 60-69 used these services more. Aged patients from the rural areas used more the family physician's offices (59.72%) and the diagnostic tools services (58.98 %), whereas the patients from the urban sector made more use of the nursing services (73.63 %). Predominant satisfaction states were registered excepting the dental and ambulance services.
