Infection as a disease of clinicoepidemiologic interest at the primary health care level causes a human-economic-social impact due to its morbimortality. That's why, a surveillance system is necessary for its prevention and control. In the present paper, the disinfection-antisepsis and sterilization procedures used at this level of medical assistance are described as elements for the rupture of the transmission chain. Recommendations are made to establish a policy in this sense.
