Abstract

To know the importance of the examination to obtain a degree in Odontology, according to the way in which the basic and essential competences are evaluated, it was made firstly a review of the final examination in Odontology in different national and international contexts. It was possible to confirm that the examination to get the degree has a certification character, where it is implicit the formative assessment with the final exercise of evaluation. Secondly, it was considered the opinion of different sectors of the Odondology Faculty subjected to this study to offer a critical balance of the present situation with regard to the degree examination through surveys and interviews from which it is possible to know the significance of implementing new and better ways to evaluate the final moment of a career.
