Abstract

Objective: to identify the learning needs on the contents of the subject Human Morphophysiology I of the specialists in General Comprehensive Medicine working as professors in the Training Program for the Comprehensive Community Physician in the State of Táchira during the course 2005-2006. Methods: 58 basic sciences professors and 19 advisers of the Training Program for the Comprehensive Community Physician were interviewed. Results: most of the professors were under 40. Females prevailed and all the professors were specialists in General Comprehensive Medicine. Conclusions: learning needs were detected in connection with self-training and with the link of the contents with the health problems of the community, mainly in the topics of cells and basic tissues. The professors recognized the usefulness of the training system to teach the subject, but all of them expressed the necessity to use other posgraduate figures in their training
