Abstract

MARTINEZ SUAREZ, Nereyda; RODRIGUEZ MENDEZ, Noelio  and  VIGOA ARANGUREN, Lázaro. External dacryocystorhinostomy: Analysis of the results in 5 years. Rev Cubana Oftalmol [online]. 2002, vol.15, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3070.

A retrospective descriptive study of 355 patients carriers of chronic dacryocystitis that underwent surgery by the external dacryocystorhinostomy technique in a period of 5 years was conducted. . Female white patients between 60 and 70 and with unspecific chronic ethiology prevailed. The complications were only present in 8 % of the cases and it was obtained 95 % of satisfactory results with a follow-up period of one year. The anatomopathological findings of fragments of bones, lacrimal sac and nasal pitituary obtained during surgery are shown
