Abstract

LABRADA RODRIGUEZ, Yunia Herbania. Assessment of the risk factors in primary open angle glaucoma. Rev Cubana Oftalmol [online]. 2008, vol.21, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3070.

An analytical study was conducted though an active screening of glaucoma that was carried out in Las Tunas municipality from January 2003 to January 2006. The aim was to identify the risk factors in the studied population. Two thousand nine hundred and one patients were examined; those positive to primary open angle glaucoma were taken as cases whereas 201 negative controls were randomly selected. The ratio was 1: 3. Data processing was based on chi square, mean comparison for separate samples and multiple logistic regression. Risk factors were blood hypertension, family history of glaucoma, ocular hypertension and myopia.
