Abstract

AMARO CANO, María del Carmen. Historical, cultural and ethical considerations on the death of the human being. Rev Cubana Salud Pública [online]. 2005, vol.31, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3127.

An analytical study was made on the death of the human being at different historical periods in the context of the various cultures of humanity, taking the moral values prevailing in each specific stage as a basis and linking them to the healing practice in ancient times and to scientific medicine. Matching criteria were grouped according to the features that make them universal, underlining those that have gone beyond time and space. Emphasis was made on Indo-American and African cultures as the roots of cultures in the America and the Caribbean, and their impact on the present medical practice in this part of the world

Keywords : HISTORY; CULTURE; ETHICS; DEATH.
