Abstract

CABRERA CRUZ, Niviola; ALVAREZ BLANCO, Adolfo  and  GARCIA GONZALEZ ELIAS, Amador. Results of 2007 announcement for health research. Rev Cubana Salud Pública [online]. 2008, vol.34, n.3, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3127.

ABSTRACTS The present article showed the organizational characteristics of the evaluation process of the research and innovation projects submitted to the 2007 Announcement of the Scientific and Technical Branch Programs of the Ministry of Public Health led by the Science and Technology Division. The phases that make up the structure of such process as well as the importance of assuring that every project be subjected to a strict evaluation process were described. The above-mentioned process takes into account the project priorities, the protection of results, anticipated scientific production, relevance of the proposal, project manager's experience, project excellence, capacities to be developed, coherence, quality, impact and sustainability of the project proposal. The evaluation as such includes two aspects, that is, a qualitative evaluation and a quantitative evaluation. In this 2007 Announcement, a project was considered as approved when its success index was over 70 points. Three hundred and seventy six out of the 565 projects that were submitted managed to reach this score. This result demonstrated that 66.5 % of projects had the required quality to be implemented. It was demonstrated that the management and evaluation process of projects is susceptible of improvement in the future.
