GUILLEN DEL CAMPO, Mónica. Organizational climate of Editorial Ciencias Médicas based on the analysis of two dimensions. Rev Cubana Salud Pública [online]. 2013, vol.39, n.2, pp. 242-252. ISSN 0864-3466.

Introduction: the organizational climate refers to the characteristics of the working environment of an organization and how they are directly or indirectly perceived by the workers. It has effects on the work behavior and mediates between the organizational system factors and the individual performance. Objective: to diagnose the organizational climate of Editorial de Ciencias Medicas, based on the study of two dimensions: leadership and motivation. Methods: The group work and the case study method were used in addition to qualitative techniques such as participatory ones, the interview and the observation, phrase completions and the desire expression techniques. The data collection and analysis were carried out in 2008 and later updated in 2011. Results: the acknowledgment of the contribution, the professional performance, the working conditions and the vertical communication were perceived by the participants as the most affected aspects in the organization; but at the same time, they stated that there was good cooperation among the groups and good coordination between the different departments of the institution. Conclusions: the stated perceptions of the workers have a negative effect on the organizational climate of Editorial de Ciencias Medicas; this is the reason why it was diagnosed as fairly favorable, which is a good condition within the possible evaluations of the organizational climate after taking the complex work of the institution into account.
