Introduction:
The pandemic unleashed from the rapid expansion of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and its high contagiousness and the lethality of the COVID-19 disease, which results from it, has had a profound impact on all spheres of human existence, including those related to sexual and reproductive health.
Objective:
Identify the effects of COVID-19 on sexual and reproductive health in times of pandemic.
Methods:
The electronic databases, Google Scholar, Pubmed central, LILACS, BIREME, SciELO Regional, which were accessed through Google search engine were reviewed, and Infomed portal was also reviewed. 94 bibliographic sources were identified, of which 45 were excluded.
Conclusions:
Data on the impact of COVID-19 on sexual and reproductive health are scarce and there are still questions not fully clarified. The evidence on transmission by semen or feces is contradictory and does not seem to be transmitted by vaginal secretions, but saliva or sexual intimacy can be a source of contagion, so the need to maintain responsible sexual behavior is recommended. There is a theoretical possibility of testicular damage and possible infertility after SARS-COV-2 infection, for which further studies are needed. Information on its possible effect on the female reproductive system is insufficient.
