Abstract

INFANTE, Danay; MARTINEZ, B; GONZALEZ, Noyma  and  REYES, Yusimy. Trichoderma MECHANISMS OF ACTION AGAINST PHYTOPATHOGEN FUNGI. Rev. Protección Veg. [online]. 2009, vol.24, n.1, pp. 14-21. ISSN 2224-4697.

Antagonist fungi play an important role in the biological control of phytopathogens. In this sense, Trichoderma genus is the most used for the biocontrol of soil fungus pathogens. These species present different action ways or mechanisms to carry out the control of phytopathogens. Among them are: competition for substrate, mycoparasitism, antibiosis, desactivation of enzymes of the pathogen, induced resistance, among others. While higher is the probability of a Trichoderma isolate to show several action ways, more efficient and lasting the control of the pathogen will be, aspects not being present in chemical pesticides. In the article, authors intend to carry out a compilation on the ways of action of Trichoderma against pathogens.

Keywords : Trichoderma; antagonism; biocontrol.
