Abstract

Recognizing insect species by specialists is considerably improved when electronic guides are used, besides those represent an excellent teaching material. In an order like Thysanoptera, this tool becomes particularly needed. To make known the first electronic guide for identification of Trips presented in the Guantanamo province is the main goal of this note. A structured information combining organized documents, images and videos, including new species reports for Cuba and Science, is shown. A friendly interface with three main navigation menus, which prioritizes the easy understanding by users through descriptions and pictures of the main characteristics, was generated. A combination of species identification in each municipality, their function in the agroecosystem and their distribution according to the climatic factors in the region was achieved.
