Abstract

CASTELLANOS GONZALEZ, Leónides; LORENZO NICAO, María E  and  MUINO, Berta Lina. Compatibility of four pesticides belonging to different chemical groups with Lecanicillium (Verticillium) lecanii (Zimm.) Zare & Gams). Rev. Protección Veg. [online]. 2013, vol.28, n.3, pp. 199-203. ISSN 1010-2752.

The objective of the present work was to determine the compatibility of four formulated pesticides of different chemical groups (imidacloprid, methamidophos, dicofol, and abamectin) with the entomopathogenic fungus Lecanicillium lecanii (Zimm.) Zare & Gams) strain Y-57. The assays were carried out in vitro with the following concentrations of the pesticides: 10, 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 2000 mg.L-1. Growth inhibition of the fungus colony on solid media, as well as the effect on the spore production capacity and conidia germination were evaluated. Dicofol was classified as very toxic (T=8,6), methamidophos as lightly toxic (T=52,69), and abamectin and imidacloprid were compatible with the entomopathogenic fungus, with values of T> 60. Dicofol inhibited the conidia germination totally at all the studied concentrations and methamidophos from the field dose (1000 mg.L-1). No effect was observed with abamectin or Imidacloprid.

Keywords : pesticides; emtomopathogenic fungi; toxicity.
