Abstract

LEIVA-MORA, Michel et al. Molecular identification of Cuban isolates of Mycosphaerella fijiensis Morelet. Rev. Protección Veg. [online]. 2013, vol.28, n.3, pp. 229-231. ISSN 1010-2752.

The aim of this work was to identify isolates of Mycosphaerella fijiensis Morelet obtained from infected leaves of Grande naine. Specific oligonucleotides (MF137 y R635) for M. fijiensis were used to amplify the ADNr (ITS1) by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). A band of approximately 1018 pb corresponding with the expected size was observed in the nine isolates. This is the first report of molecular identification of Cuban M. fijiensis monoascosporic isolates and this result will help to establish appropriately identified culture collection.

Keywords : nuclear ribosomal genes; ITS regions; black Sigatoka.
