The analysis of the speech is an increasingly important method in different specialties of the social sciences.  Its objective, which is to analyze the mark and the contextual meaning of the messages, is related to a set of interpretation strategies that are of great value at present. They are characterized by a high production of documentary information in every kind of settings.  A series of theoretical elements on the analysis of the speech is approached: definitions, antecedents, functions, interdisciplinary nature and object of study.  The speech analysis is a method that can complement the processing of information and of the analysis of the traditional content to represent certain knowledge stages and the experience of the text producers as functional models of semantic type.
