Abstract

A randomized study of total of 60 patients with the diagnosis of knee ostearthritis, in two groups the of 30 sick each one was performed withthe aim of knowing the adverce effects more frequent caused by Indometacine in four aministered 100 mgs daily of Indometacine in four dosis during theren weeks, the second one received a daily dosis of 20 mgs of Piroxican during the same period. Finally, it was concluded that 40% of treated cases with Indometacine had any type adverse effect, and 20% those who received treatment with Piroxican. Central Nervous System and gastrointestinal disorders were the most frequent for Indometacine while gastrointestinal reactions and mucocutaneous lesions were frequently observed in those treated with Piroxicam.
