Abstract

HERRERA RODRIGUEZ, Reinaldo  and  AGUERO PELAEZ, María Eugenia. Diuretic Effect of Lepidium virginicum L in rats. AMC [online]. 2000, vol.4, n.5, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1025-0255.

In a single dosis of 170 mg / kg of body weight administred for oral via through a gastric brobe , Lepidium virginicum l. in 30% hydroalcoholic solution, caused a diuresis superiror to the negative control group(30% hydroalcoholic solution) and to the group treated with hydroclorothyazide(5mg/kg of body weigth) at two, four and six hours of observation being the significant difference in both cases for p<0.01 and p>0.05. The excretion of electrolites (sodium and potasium) eliminated in urine in six hours was superior and significant (p<0.01) when comparing it with the control group and inferior to the ones eliminated by hidroclorothyazide.
