Abstract

Pericardic injuries originated by thoracic traumas penetrating or not, constitute the most frequent causes of pericardic disorders, mainly if we isolate the organ from other systemic pathologic process, where the pericardic sac is frequently affected. Three cases of patients with pericardic injuries of traumatic origin were presented; and through them we reviewed the way of presentation of this pathologhy which influences in the possibility of a pertinent dignosis and, finally, in favorable evolution. Whith the study of medical records of our patiens, we are able to observe how pericardic injuries of traumatic origin have different forms of presentation and manifestation which contribute to specific forms of management for each situation, besides the importance of morbidity increase of patients who suffer thoracic trauma, which means a warning for doctors who assist them.
