Abstract

The abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS) is an old aliment which causes difficulties in its diagnosis at present. Severe metabolic disorders occurred due to injuries to cardiovascular, digestive, respiratory and urinary systems are able to reach to multiorganic dysfunction. The right diagnosis of this affection and knowledge of the adequate management of patients is a challenge of urgent need for the assistance doctor. In this review, the main clinical parameters and technical procedures for diagnosis and syndrome treatment are exposed with the aim of diminishing its morbiomortality in our hospitals.
