Abstract

CASANOVA RIVERO, Janett; LOPEZ RIVERO, Rafael  and  RAMOS, Melania. Use of the neuromyorelaxing plate in the patietns carriers of the temporomandibular dysfunction. AMC [online]. 2003, vol.7, n.3, pp. 286-295. ISSN 1025-0255.

A prospective longitudinal study was carried out to cheeck the effectiveness of the neuromyorelaxing plate in 26 patients carriers of temporomaandibular dysfunction . Pain intensity, signs and end of treatment were evaluated; and relieving was weekly evolved in the firts mouth, and semi-monthly on the second one. A higher incidence of this affection was observed in hte age groups from 15 to 45 years, of femenine sex, as well as in the category of students and techniques (23,1%) and (42,3 %), respectively. The totality of patients finished treatment without pain; more than a half (15) eliminated the majority of symptoms and signs in the first 14 days, which showed the efectiveness of the neurmioorelaxing plate.
